KANTHA COLLECTION
Rare. Handmade. Built to Evolve
Each pair in the Kantha Collection is handmade from authentic sneakers and rare vintage Kantha fabric. No two pairs are alike, and only a small batch of orders will be made due to the scarcity of this material.
What is Kantha?
Kantha is a centuries-old embroidery technique from India and Bangladesh, traditionally used to stitch together layers of recycled fabrics into quilts and blankets.
Each piece of Kantha fabric carries a story, with intricate hand-stitched patterns that transform aged textiles into something new.
By integrating Kantha into our custom sneakers, we’re preserving a tradition of craftsmanship while giving these repurposed fabrics a modern twist.

The Process
Transforming each pair is an intensive, hands-on process. These are not simple fabric overlays or quick modifications - this is a full deconstruction and reconstruction of a sneaker to create a high quality product.
Material Selection – Every pair starts with an authentic Kantha quilt, picked for its unique stitching and character. Since no two sections of fabric are identical, each sneaker is a one-of-one piece of wearable art.
Deconstruction & Reconstruction – The base sneaker is carefully disassembled, and the original leather and suede overlays are preserved. The Kantha fabric is cut and stitched onto the sneaker, ensuring a seamless integration between the original overlays and the Kantha material. This step alone requires hours of meticulous work to maintain our standards of quality, while also ensuring you receive a long lasting sneaker.
Sole Swap – The sneakers are rebuilt with the new Kantha uppers, blending them with our Sole Concern branded Dunk soles. Every detail, from the stitching to the glue application, is done to ensure a clean finish.
Final Touches & Quality Control – After assembly, each sneaker undergoes a final inspection, ensuring structural integrity and premium craftsmanship. Once approved, they’re prepped for wear and shipment. (For longevity tips, see our "Care & Wear" section under the product description.)
